Tour Itinerary

Day 1. Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky
In the afternoon boarding and departure. We admire the natural beauties of Avacha Bay from the deck of our expedition vessel.

Day 2. To the sea
Heading towards the Commander Islands. The expedition team has prepared interesting lectures on the inhabitants and the history of these places. There will also be a great opportunity to enjoy magnificent views from the deck.

Days 3 – 4. Commander Islands
These islands were discovered in 1741 by an expedition of the outstanding Russian navigator Captain-Commander Vitus Bering, after whom they received their name. The name of Bering is reliably inscribed in the pages of history – the Bering Sea and the Bering Strait remind of the outstanding discoveries of 18th century expeditions. On Bering Island we will visit Cape North-West, where we will witness an impressive spectacle – a large colony of northern fur seals and sea lions. Here you can also find Arctic foxes, scurrying around among the thickets of wild flowers. In the second half of the day we go for a walk on the Zodiac to the place known as Arius Kamen – very colorful looking birds will not leave indifferent even travelers who are not versed in ornithology. Then we return aboard and go to the village of Nikolskoye. In Nikolsky, we will visit the local museum and talk to the locals, who will tell about life in this remote and rarely visited corner of the planet.

Day 5. Zhupanova River
On the expedition boats Zodiac we will enter this wide but shallow Kamchatka river Zhupanova. It will be possible to observe white-shouldered eagles and about 40 other interesting bird species.

Day 6. Russkaya Bay.
In the Russkaya Bay during a walk through the coastal wooded area, you will have the opportunity to see many birds. From here you can also admire the magnificent volcano Mutnovskaya Sopka 2322 meters high.

Day 7. Atlasova Island and Onekotan
Early in the morning we will go through the Second Kuril Strait and land on the island of Atlas, which is the northernmost of the Great Ridge of the Kuril Islands. This is an excellent opportunity for bird watching. In the evening, on the island of Onekotan we will make an amazing trip to the Black Lake, which is located next to the volcano Nemo. The lake is surrounded by a colorful carpet of wild flowers.

Day 8. Ekarma Islands, Toporkov
Walking on the zodiac and landing will be accompanied by rare birds, which can be found only in this region.

Day 9. Yankich Island, Simushir Island
Yankich Island is a beautiful place. Let us enter the volcanic caldera on the Zodiac, and we will see a truly fantastic picture: smoking geysers, bird colonies, idyllic beaches. In the picturesque volcanic caldera on Simushir Island in Soviet times was located the base of submarines.

Day 10. Chirpoi and Urup Islands
In the morning, depending on the weather conditions, we will land on the Zodiac on Chirpoi Island, where there are two active volcanoes and many seabirds inhabit. In the second half we will land on the Zodiac on the island of Urup. Walk along the shore and into the forest.

Day 11. Iturup Island
In the morning we will disembark at the town of Kurilsk, from where the bus will reach volcanic formations and hot springs. Here you will have the opportunity to plunge and enjoy the magnificent views. During the walk, bird lovers will be able to see many rare individuals.

Day 12. Kunashir Island
The name of the island “Kunashir” means “black island”: dark coniferous forests, dark soils and the gloomy appearance of the Tyatya volcano, in addition to which there are three more active volcanoes on the island. It is the largest and southernmost island of the Great Ridge of the Kuril Islands. We will land in the reserve and enjoy a stroll through the magnificent woodlands surrounded by numerous birds.

Day 13. Sakhalin Island
Arriving at the port in the morning. Landing from the ship. Transfer to the hotel or to the airport of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
